Thursday

valentine's day.

The truth:  I procrastinated so long this Valentine's Day that finally I decided that I would just go to the store and buy some cute Spiderman cards and be done with it.  The problem the day before Valentine's Day?  There were only GIRL cards left!!  Oh no!!  There was no way that my boys could (or would) hand out "Brave" or "Bratz" valentines.  They would never stoop so low.  Never.

The truth:  I quickly looked on Instagram for some inspiration and found this great idea.  All I needed was to run to the store again, and grab a big bag of soldier guys.  The problem the day before Valentine's day?  No soldier guys.  Not a one.  However, there was a big bag of little construction men!  Now I just needed to think up something fantastic to go with them.

The truth:  I thought of a few tag lines to go along with my little men, but to be honest, they were a little inappropriate for children.  Not any thing that the kids would be offended by, but I could imagine some phone calls from a few uptight parents who would get it.  (What??  Where is my mind??  Not in the trash, I assure you!)  But, I did need some quick (and more child friendly) help.  My creative husband to the rescue!  He thought up the sweet tag line in less that 13.2 seconds.  And children all around Colorado will rest a little more innocently tonight now that I wasn't in charge of what was written on the valentines.

The truth:  I hereby vow to never ever procrastinate for so long on Valentines Day preparations again.  Maybe next year I'll even find some army men ahead of time.

I love this idea! Very cute. And I'm glad you're back, I had no idea! I don't get to read all the posts in my reader as often now that there are two boys here!!

Now I really want to hear the inappropriate alternatives.
